WHAT TO DO WHEN OSHA ARRIVES ON SITE

Steps if OSHA is on site:

  1. Welcome the inspector warmly

  2. Ask the inspector to wait while you call the HR Director, Kiersen Miller

  3. If possible, have Kiersen talk to the inspector before he/she starts the inspection

  4. Get a business card from the inspector

What to do during the inspection:

  1. Make sure the inspector knows that his/her contact will be Kiersen Miller, HR Director

  2. Have a capable team member accompany the inspector

  3. Only show the inspector what he/she asks to see and nothing more

  4. Take notes of anything the inspector says

  5. Take pictures of anything the inspector points out and notes to go with the picture

  6. Do not argue with the inspector—treat him/her like a safety partner

  7. If the inspector asks for documents and you don’t have those documents there (example: OSHA logs), let him/her know that Kiersen can get those to him/her and take notes on which documents he/she needs
